I love the NHL entry draft.  When I get my copy of the top 50 prospects from the Hockey News sometime in April, I read it from cover to cover numerous times up to the draft.  Then, as the excitement builds in the week leading up to draft I will have it with me everywhere I go.  I am like a religious zealot and that magazine becomes my bible.  And

The NHL is holding its annual awards ceremony tonight in hockey mad Las Vegas.  I say that tongue-in-cheek as there are very few people in Vegas outside of bookies and a handful of compulsive gamblers who know that the NHL exists.  Hell, if Ovechkin, Gonchar and Kovalchuk walked into a casino on the strip, they probably be mistaken for Russian mafia instead of hockey players.  So why hold the awards

So pumped today.  Hard to focus on anything not hockey related.  It is kind of bittersweet as I am excited that the climax is here and someone is going to be a hero tonight and hoist the Cup over their head in victory.  But on the other hand, tomorrow the season will be over and I will only have the draft on June 26 to look forward to.  But tonight is all about the glory!  Alfie will be over this evening and we will be doing our game 7 pre-game report.  Stay tuned!
