Overtime is the New Regulation

Written on December 14th, 2009 by admin

I don’t know if anyone has noticed lately, but it seems more and more games are going to overtime. Is this the quality of play or is this just a lack of offensive effort until the last 3 minutes of the 3rd period? For the Stars, everyone wants to blame the defense…the defense let the goals in, the defense didn’t make the save, etc etc.

Stars win in 11 round shootout

Stars win in 11 round shootout Wait, shootout? Yes, the Stars won in a shootout. But lets get to the rest of the game first. Mike Ribeiro finally scored again on a powerplay goal with 7 minutes left in the 1st. But San Jose scored twice before the end. Both teams were blanked in the 2nd, because the goaltenders were amazing. Nabokov saved 16 shots

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Written on December 7th, 2009 by admin

Attending games and finals for college has been taking away my time from writing about one of my two favorite teams. Since the Bruins writer does a fantastic job, I’ll stick to the Stars. Recently I’ve been explaining to a lot of people things that shouldn’t need explaining. Robidas is an ALL STAR DEFENSE MAN. Was January that long ago that you already forgot? Robidas

Stars hold off rally, win in OT

The game was going scoreless until 6 minutes into the 2nd when Razor had to say the game was scoreless and then Tampa Bay scored. The Stars then scored a pair of power play goals to give them the lead going into the 3rd. That also included Jere Lehtinen’s 1st goal of the season. Tampa Bay surged to tie with a power play goal from Steven Stamkos and an even strength goal by former Star Jeff Halpern. Tommy Wandell scored for Dallas in OT to give Big D the victory. Stars rack up 1 point on Brett Hull night 11-25

The Stars played the St. Louis Blues on Brett Hull night in Dallas. In the 1st period the Stars lit the Stars lit the lamp first on their 2nd power play. Erik Johnson answered back with a Blues power play goal to tie the game at 1. Another pair of see-saw goals followed to make it 2-2 after the 1st. No goals were scored in the 2nd but there were

Hall of Fame Induction-Brett Hull

Hall of Fame Induction-Brett Hull

Today at the game they’ve decided to do the  ceremony for Brett Hull at the American Airlines Center. I’ll be posting pictures while it happens on Twitter/Twitpic. Then I’ll try to get some on here tomorrow for those who are not able to access them. Celebrating Brett Hull means the team should be in high spirits for perhaps a 3-wins in a row?! I’ll be trying this week to post some more statistical information on the home team. <3 Happy Turco-day! ~Aprill

Marty got a shutout- Marty Turco that is!

Watching the game last night with some random people we picked from the upper level was so much fun. We had 3 people not show up and we couldn’t get our money so we volunteered our tickets to some random people going up to the nosebleeds. They were really nice What was nicer? Marty Turco of course. This is the Marty I fell in love with in 2007-2008

The Robidas Show

The Robidas Show

Our man Stephane Robidas got 4 points last night! 2 G and 2A. 3 of those points were in the first period. While I respect all things goalie and the “original” Marty; Our Marty was just on his game last night. Fantastic work even at the end. The Stars played better than I expected after the craziness on Thursday. Not one fight, but as always a few BS calls by the Refs…seems to be getting worse and worse. Has anyone else noticed the lack of calls and/or calls that are just a bad call? For now, Cheers! ~Aprill

Dallas Stars and My Introduction!

I’m still pretty upset about last nights game with the Stars and the Blue Jackets. However, I’ll introduce myself before I get into that. My name is Aprill and I love hockey!
