Sharks v Oilers: Let’s Move On and Go Forward, If That’s Possible

The San Jose Sharks take to the ice tonight in Edmonton to erase the stench of the “never mention it again” loss Wednesday.  The Oilers aren’t doing that well so theoretically it should be an easy game.  Frankly, I am having a hard time moving on from Wednesday, and I didn’t even watch the game.  Just followed it on the Black berry. Still hurts.  Not going to lie.  I’m so snake-bit I’m having trouble even thinking of this blog.  But I shoulder on….

According to Sharks Radio Play-by-Play announcer Dan Rusanowsky, there is a “carnival like” atmosphere today in Edmonton over the arrival on Dany Heatly.  I guess they’re a little bitter about him declining their generous offer to play hockey for them.  Who really knows?  He’s got to be used to being talked about in a negative light, so hopefully it will just go in one and out the other.  Hopefully the puck will go in as well.  A hat trick would be a nice “in your face” to the boos he will most likely receive.  Love him or hate him, the man is playing amazing hockey right now and should be on top of the leader boards all season.  The Oilers should be more concerned about playing good hockey than being rejected in a rumored hockey trade, I’m just saying…..

Once you get past the Heater drama, tonight sees the return of Center Torrey Mitchell, who hasn’t played a game in a Shark uniform since George W. Bush was President.  Mitchell as been out of action, mostly due to complications from a broken leg suffered in training camp in 2008.  Still on the injured list are D-man Rob Blake and winger Devon Setoguchi, while Shelley and Staubitz are still listed as day-to-day.  Nabby should get the start, and the line combos shouldn’t change too much from the debacle of Wednesday.

Here’s to a great evening of leftovers and hockey.  I will try to live tweet the game, but I warn of profanity if it doesn’t go in the Sharks favor!
