Sharks v Canucks: Always An Interesting Evening of Hockey
Nov 29th, 2009 | By Melanie Smith | Category: SharksThe San Jose Sharks finish off their brief visit to Canada with their first game in Vancouver this season. Now, I’m going to come right out and say that Marc Crawford ruined the Canucks for me. I can never like them again, even though he is long gone from there. That Bertuzzi incident still leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I blame him for that. Well, I blame Bertuzzi too, but you get the idea. My opinion of them will be saved for another post! I can’t be excited for the game because I just want the Sharks to embarrass the Canucks on their home ice.
That being said, tonight we will hopefully see the return of Captain Rob Blake. I didn’t see the team struggling in his absence, but his return is sure to bring things up a level. Also slated to return in Devon Setoguchi who’s scoring touch surely was missed. Speaking of scoring, Nabokov has allowed at least four goals in his last two games. He needs to lock things up if the Sharks are going to play their way into the President’s Trophy again.
The Sharks have been mostly successful against the Canucks, with a seven game win streak that was broken in March of last season. The Canucks are playing well enough to be in Third place in the Western Conference. They beat Edmonton last night, while the Sharks enjoyed a rare Saturday night off and hopefully got rested for tonight!
The game will be featured on Yahoo! Sports live tonight at 7:00PST. Looking forward to live tweeting during the game. Follow me @notketchup for live updates and always colorful commentary.
