Sabres’ Kaleta Suspended Two Games for Hit on Flyers’ Ross

The NHL has suspended Buffalo’s Patrick Kaleta two games for his hit on Philadelphia’s Jared Ross in yesterdays 4-2 Sabres’ victory at the Wachovia Center.

The hit came midway through the first period when Ross had control of the puck behind the Flyer net and turned to pass it along the boards.  Ross appeared to see Adam Mair coming from the other side of the net and started to turn the other direction, not seeing Kaleta bearing down on him from behind.  Kaleta came in full speed and drove Ross’ head into the glass.

Kaleta received a 5-minute major and a game misconduct.
