Roloson helps Islanders salvage a win

Unbelievable. If someone had asked me to put last nights game into a one word definition, that would be the word I would choose. Dwayne Roloson was just that for the New York Islanders: Unbelieveable. Age, although it should not be a huge factor in certain players playing careers, is mentioned more often then not when discussing an NHL player. Dwayne Roloson, who has surpassed

Greener’s Top Live Games Part 2

Saturday March 10 2007 Ottawa @ Toronto   From 2001 -- 2005 I lived in Ottawa and being a Leafs fan, I often took the battle of Ontario to heart.  Looking back on it, it can sometimes amaze me how many debates, arguments and scenarios for potential violence I have been involved in just due to this rivalry.   I was the only person who

Can the Flyers Win the Cup With John Stevens?

BY DAVID STREHLE Twitter ID: @PhilaDAVEia It’s the one and only question that should matter to Ed Snider when it comes to the Philadelphia Flyers.  Can they win the Stanley Cup with John Stevens as head coach of this team?  Snider, Chariman of the Flyer’s parent company Comcast-Spectacor, has always stated that his goal every single season is that of having the Flyers carrying Lord Stanley around the ice when it’s all said

Undisciplined Flyers Buried by Avalanche

Avs celebrate goal against Flyers' Ray Emery BY DAVID STREHLE Twitter ID: @PhilaDAVEia In a game where the Philadelphia Flyer needed to come up with a huge effort to put a stop to a 2-game losing skid, their undisciplined play buried them under a 3-goal deficit heading into the 3rd period…and also killed any chances of a game-tying goal in the closing minutes of the game. Coach John Stevens tried

Bergeron and the Bruins blast the Blues

By BRANDON MACDONALD BRUINS BLOGGER It’s without question that Patrice Bergeron is getting his game back as he helped the Bruins defeat the Blues by a score of 4-2.  Bergeron assisted on all four goals scored by the Bruins players, that was Mark Recchi, Blake Wheeler, Milan Lucic and Marco Sturm. Tuukka Rask was solid between the pipes for the Bruins and is giving Tim Thomas a run for his

Islanders hope to end road trip victorious

In what can be considered the first “must win” game of the season, the Islanders will be in Toronto to face the Leafs tonight as the road trip comes to an end. Coming off back to back losses, the New York Islanders will attempt to leave the weekend’s games behind them as they skate at the ACC against Vesa Toskala and the Leafs. Bruins Gameday: It’s Tuukka Time in Boston

By BRANDON MACDONALD BRUINS BLOGGER Tuukka Rask is really getting his chance to show the Bruins what kind of talent they really have.  The 22-year-old Rask will make his fourth consecutive start tonight as the Bruins face the St. Louis Blues.  Rask and Chris Mason were the first goalies off the ice at their respective team’s morning skate, so that is the indicator that they will be getting the nod

Chilly Flyers Blow into Colorado

Chilly Flyers Blow into Colorado

It’s a good thing that hockey is played on ice because the recently ice cold Philadelphia Flyers roll into Denver tonight to play Colorado Avalanche, a team that has been even more frigid than the Flyers. Philly began their current 5 game road trip with a 3-2 win in LA, but then proceeded to lose in San Jose and Phoenix over the weekend.  The Flyers, 2-3 in their last 5 games, play the Avalanche
