Boucher Saves Game for Flyers

Brian Boucher played his best game of the season and Scott Hartnell scored the game-winning goal with 5:27 left in regulation in a 2-1 Flyer victory over the New York Islanders on Long Island.  To say that Boucher stole two points for the Flyers is an understatement. Boucher was stellar as the Flyers were on their heels for most of the first two frames.  And

Boston Bruins goalie Thomas recovering from broken hand

By BRANDON MACDONALD BRUINS BLOGGER It seems that the undisclosed injury that has kept Tim Thomas out of the Bruins lineup could possibly be a broken right hand, according to NESN.com. Last year’s Vezina trophy winner has a 5-6 record this season with three shutouts and a .918 save percentage.  Thomas was playing well for the Bruins despite his losing record.  He kept the team in games they had no

Hall of Fame Induction-Brett Hull

Today at the game they’ve decided to do the  ceremony for Brett Hull at the American Airlines Center. I’ll be posting pictures while it happens on Twitter/Twitpic. Then I’ll try to get some on here tomorrow for those who are not able to access them. Celebrating Brett Hull means the team should be in high spirits for perhaps a 3-wins in a row?! I’ll be trying this week to post some more statistical information on the home team. <3 Happy Turco-day! ~Aprill

Flyers-Islanders Gameday

As the Philadelphia Flyers head home from their recent west coast trip, they drop in on Nassau County Coliseum tonight to play the New York Islanders. In addition to being a game the Flyers need to bring an end to a 3-game losing skid, the game will feature a couple of interesting sidelights as well. Goaltender Martin Biron will get the start between the pipes against his former team.  Biron, Philadelphia’s #1 goalie over the past two

Bruins Gameday: Boston @ Minnesota and the Tuukka/Timmy controversy

By BRANDON MACDONALD BRUINS BLOGGER The Bruins are in Minnesota tonight to face the Wild and some familiar faces.  Chuck Kobasew, who was acquired by the Wild Oct. 18, and Shane Hnidy who was an off-season pickup. It’s looking like Tuukka Rask will be once again manning the crease for the Bruins.  Rask would be playing his fifth consecutive game as Tim Thomas continues to rest a sore hand.  It

What Will The Media Do Without Latendresse, their Poster Boy?

What Will The Media Do Without Latendresse, their Poster Boy?

posted by Rocket All Habs There is no denying that Guillaume Latendresse has enjoyed an extraordinary amount of media attention well in excess of what a player with his skills and his numbers would normally deserve. So, who is this player who received so much ink and broadcast time? Is he really one of the greats in Canadiens history? Are the rest of us just not seeing it?

Latendresse: The Fairy Tale has Ended

posted by Rocket All Habs It was the fall of 2008, and the Montreal Canadiens’ training camp was all abuzz about the pre-season performance of a young power forward. He seemed to have all the tools: a unique blend of size, power, speed, and intensity. “He’s been a nice surprise since the beginning of camp in the sense that he’s adapted to every position and to every role we’ve

Marty got a shutout- Marty Turco that is!

Watching the game last night with some random people we picked from the upper level was so much fun. We had 3 people not show up and we couldn’t get our money so we volunteered our tickets to some random people going up to the nosebleeds. They were really nice What was nicer? Marty Turco of course. This is the Marty I fell in love with in 2007-2008

Flyers' Danny Briere Suspended 2 Games for hit on Hannan

Twitter ID: @PhilaDAVEia Already in the midst of a 3-game losing streak, the news just keeps getting worse for the Philadelphia Flyers. Flyers’ forward Danny Briere was suspended by the NHL Tuesday for a hit on Colorado Avalanche defenseman Scott Hannan in Monday night’s Flyer loss.  The hit came just after Hannan scored a goal to give the Avs a 4-2 lead, as Briere left his feet and hit Hannan in the neck with his elbow.  There was no penalty assessed to Briere though, as none of the on-ice officials appeared to see the hit. Briere will miss tomorrow night’s game in NY against the Islanders and Black Friday’s home matinee against his former team, the Buffalo Sabres’.  He will be eligible to return on Sunday in Atlanta against the Thrashers.
