BOSTON BRUINS BLOGGER
The Bruins head into Buffalo tonight with a 9-8-4 record. They last played the Sabres Nov. 4 in Boston and came away with a 4-2 victory.
Milan Lucic returned to the lineup last night in the Bruins 4-3 shootout victory, getting 14 minutes of ice-time and recording two shots. Hopefully as he plays more he will regain his legs and get back to helping the team on all levels.
It’s still unclear whether Marc Savard will play tonight, but what is becoming clear is a contract. There have been numerous reports of a contract extension being signed in the next few days. The extension is said to keep Savard in Boston for the next 7 years for $39 million ($5.7 million per). This is great news for the Bruins as they have struggled mercifully without Savvy in the lineup. Savard had 7 points (3g,4a) in 7 games for the Bruins before finding out he was playing on a broken foot.
EDIT: Savard will not be in tonight’s lineup.
The Sabres are coming off a loss last night to the Panthers ending their three game wining streak. Ryan Miller should be between the pipes, but it’s still up in the air as to who will start for the Bruins. Tim Thomas was scheduled to play against the Thrashers last night but has a minor injury, so Tuukka Rask could get his second consecutive start.
This is an important game for the Bruins because with a win they could come within a point of the division leading Sabres. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. EST (NESN).

Well this is my first post as the new Boston Bruins blogger here on Puck Drop. I have been a Bruins fan since I can remember hockey, my old man made sure of that. Since I am only 20 I wasn’t really around for the hay day of the Bruins greats like Orr, Cheevers, Esposito and even more recently Cam Neely, although I have spent a lot of time researching the great eight, but I think this new crop of Bruins is ready to represent the spoked B proudly. I am currently studying Journalism in Niagara region. I am hoping to have atleast a recap of all the Bruins games as well as some other blogs.
