Don Cherry Lay Off OVECHKIN

One thing I failed to mention as I usually do this stuff off the cuff. Ovi may take it too far sometimes but people often forget the guy is really passionate about winning. So he show boats a little or he is having fun. It is open for discussion and even some of the classier players in the league get a kick out of it. I do agree with Don regarding a few times when Ovi has made some cheap shots from behind. He needs to cut that stuff out. Marquee player or not, there is simply no room for that behavior. Other then that I think people need to loosen up as Ovi is probably the most exciting player to watch right now. If players do low class or low ball things justice will prevail (hopefully in a clean manner) on the ice the good old Rock em Sock em way!

Ovi has some time to grow up as well and figure his way out, last time I checked Cherry didn't exactly earn goose eggs on the controversy and showmanship board if we look back.
