Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza look great on team Canada at the World Championships. Having support from other lines does wonders….perhaps Ottawa GM Bryan Murray will get the message.

It is time for Canada’s entry at the Olympics next year to go with all new blood. Just watch Eric Staal, Toews, and Burrows in the second round of the playoffs and tell me you don’t agree.  I would love to see Milan Lucic put some hurt on a Finn or Swede..he has skill and sandpaper and should be on the Olympic team

Would somebody get the message to the NHL that Saturday afternoon games in the spring may help explain why ratings are not that great. Perhaps people have something else to do on a sunny weekend than stay inside and watch the boob tube. Now, put the game at 8 o’clock so that the yard has been weeded, the fence has been mended and little Sally got to her gymnastics practice on time and hockey fans can sit back with a couple pints and a bowl of pistachio nuts and see if the ratings don’t get a boost

Message to Malkin – this is your second year in the playoffs. When the media asks you why you played such a rotten game in the series opener, don’t respond “Maybe I was a little bit nervous but … the next game will be better”. What the hell? Why are you nervous Gino? Scared that Ovie is going to plant you into the boards? What is up with that dude? Blame your trepidation on a pulled groin or something…hockey players do not tell the media they were nervous for an important game and played crap because of it.

Speaking of the Pens/Caps……Crosby looked like he was on a mission. Too bad for him, so was Ovie…and for some reason Ovie’s intensity rubs off on his teammates more than Crosby’s rubs off on his . Can’t wait for game 2 tonight

How did that goal not count last night for Carolina? The puck was clearly over the line for a split second and that is all it takes. But the guys in the War Room for the NHL can’t always get it right I guess…just look at the goal Martin Gelinas scored for Calgary against Tampa in Game 6 of the Cup final a couple years back

Note to all Pierre McGuire bashers (I am not one of them)….your wish may come true and Pierre may soon be off TSN. Rumours have him in line for the vacant GM job in Minnesota. It states here that if he does get the job, the bashers will soon know what they are missing without Pierre providing the colour for the games.

Anyone else happy to see Michael Ryder amongst the top of the playoff scoring race. Well, maybe one guy is not so happy….eh Bob Gainey?
